Shullai removed as NCP chief

SHILLONG, DEC 14: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has relieved former deputy speaker of the Assembly Sanbor Shullai from the post of the party’s state president.

In letter to the state party, NCP Hon permanent secretary & member working committee SR Kohli said, “On the recommendation of the NCP national general secretary in-charge NE states Praful Patel, Shullai has been relieved from the post of state president with immediate effect.”

“This was after considering the fact that he (Shullai) will be busy in his own constituency and will not be able to give sufficient time in the forthcoming elections in Meghalaya,” he said.

Kohli also informed that the incumbent state vice president Vijay Raj was accordingly appointed as the working president of the NCP Meghalaya state with immediate effect.

He said the party hopes that Raj will prove his ability and work with greater zeal and enthusiasm in strengthening the party in Meghalaya.
