SHILLONG, NOV 27: The Meghalaya Pavilion bagged gold medal for excellence in display under the North Eastern States category in the 36th edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) organized by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi held from November 14th to 27th which concluded on Sunday on the theme “Digital India”.

B. Kharsamai, assistant director of Information and Public Relations received the award on behalf of the state pavilion which was presented by LC Goyal, Chairman and Managing Director, ITPO and Vitaly A Prima, Ambassador of Belarus to India at a function held at Shakuntalam Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Assam and Tripura was awarded the commendation pavilion in the north eastern states category.

The departments representing Meghalaya at the IITF includes Agriculture, Horticulture, Commerce & Industries, Tourism, Cooperative Societies, Sericulture and Weaving, Information Technology and Communication, MHHDC, MKVIB and Directorate of Information and Public Relations as the nodal department.

Apart from government departments, 17 units sponsored by different departments drawn from various parts of the state also participated in the fair.
