Shillong, Sept 19: Two ladies allegedly involved in drug peddling were caught by the Civil Society Women Organisation (CSWO) Irene P Hujon faction and Hynneiwtrep National Peoples’ Front (HNPF) under Ronnie Rani.
The two ladies peddlers have been identified as Duli Hmar, forty years, and Moi Hmar eighteen years of age and are residents of Demthring. Approximately twenty grams of heroin have also been seized from them.
The two were apprehended after the CSWO and HNPF had followed up the report of the involvement right from Jaintia hills, where youths who are addicted to the white powder were supplied the substance allegedly by these two women.
According to information the ngos seized around three small container that consist of 8.50 gram of heroin in one of them 7 gram in two other containers. It is said that one gram of heroin cost Rs 500.
Moi has been arrested by the Madanrynthing police while Duli is said to have been taken to hospital by the 108 after she was apprehended and later fainted. – By Our Reporter
