SHILLONG, NOV 28: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Meghalaya has demanded the state government to waive loan given to farmers under the Kisan Credit Card in the state.
In a letter to the minister in-charge agriculture, LJP farmer’s cell president Denis Tynsiar said, “The party urge you to kindly waive the existing loans of our farmers under Kisan Credit Card or otherwise.”
He said that he has come to know that farmers are facing hardship to repay the loans taken from the government after his visit and interaction with the farmers from several villages in East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills, Ri Bhoi and Jaintia Hills.
