Three cement companies namely M/s Cement manufacture Co LTD (Star Cement), M/s Meghalaya Cement LTD (TOPCEM) and Dalmia Cement had filed the FIR against Lytep charging him with threatening them.

According to the FKJGP, a delegation of the Jaintia Hills unitled by Lytep and the aggrieved public had recently met the management of these companies to demanded that the companies better fulfill their promises made to the durbar shnongs to give employment to local indigenous people, set up schools, health institutions and provide water supply which were part of the agreement made between the companies and the local traditional body.

The FKJGP also demanded that the companies must also reduce the price of cement sold by them in the state, increase the rate of supply of coal and other raw materials to the companies.
