Bangla ULFA ultra arrested

SHILLONG, SEPT 21: A Bangladeshi ULFA militant Peramisom Marak was arrested by the BSF from Kachhuadogri, West Garo Hills district. The arrest follows a tip off relating to the infiltration of militant with arms and ammunition into Indian territory from Bangladesh.

The BSF intelligence team deployed at Tura laid a trap and  apprehended nineteen years old Marak who is a resident of Badagazni village under  Jhenaigati police station in -Sherpur district of Bangladesh. One 9 mm pistol, two 9 mm mag, eight 9 mm live rounds and mobile with Bangladeshi SIM was recovered from his.

Marak  revealed to the BSF that he has been working with ULFA in Bangladesh since the last three years and remains in close association with Dristi Rajkhowa deputy C-in-C of ULFA and his body guards. He also transports weapon for them.

Marak also assists the ULFA cadres residing in Bangladesh Badagazni village to cross over to India and vice versa with the help of some Indian associates. The apprehended militant is also wanted in illegal activities in Bangladesh. Badagazni area in Bangladesh is a safe haven for Indian insurgents as they disguise themselves within local tribal there to avoid arrest from the security forces.

BSF said that these cadres have a good number of sympathizers in that village. The BSF is now trying to figure out the Indian associates who are providing assistance to these cadres in the bordering areas.

Marak along with seized items was handed over to concerned department for legal action.-By Our Reporter
