JYF to JHADC CEM: Construct market within a month or will approach CBI

Shillong, Sept 9: The Jaintia Youth Federation – Jowai city (JYF-JC) has threaten to take up the delay in construction of the Jowai Market Complex by the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC)’s Chief Executive Member (CEM) Lamdibok Sumer to the CBI for inquiry but has also given  a deadline that he he must also resign if he fails to start construction of the market site within one month.

JYF-JC president Khroo Shylla said,  “We demand that the CEM to resign from the Council, if the construction work of the ‘Jowai Market Complex” is not started within one month.” He warned saying that he the ngo would be compelled to take up the matter with the CBI to probe into the over delay in implementation of the Rs. 18.9 crore market construction.

JYF-JC warning came after Sumer gave an unsatisfactory reply to its members who met him recently in his office to seek clarification on the delay of the construction of the market at Jowai.

Shylla said,  “The CEM said that the delay is due to shortage of funds and the council needs more time to start the construction work.”

Recently the JHADC executive committee led by Lamdibok Sumer had approved the revised estimate proposed by the PWD, building division for the construction of the six story building market complex at Jowai. – By Our Reporter
